Can you tell me
If the cat’s happy or sad
By the shape of its tail?

Can you tell me
If the cat’s happy or sad
By the shape of its tail?

High on a corner
Watching life passing by
The deity sits still

The midday sun
Surmounts the sacred mandir
In the town’s market place
NB A mandir is a temple

Palms everywhere
Bikes and cows on the highway
Our Indian roads

She waits with hope
Maybe some fish will come her way
There is plenty here

Laden with drums
He waits on the ferry boat
To cross the wide river

Standing in a pond
Reflect-ed in still water
A waterlily

Highly creative
His ideas challenging
He’s William Kentridge

Ev-er-y day
Surely succeeds yet another
Tomorrow follows
