Leaves raining down aplenty
Much sweeping need-ed
Washed up by the sea
SWEPT IN BY THE TIDE
BATHING IN THE WARM SUN
SEAWEED SLOWLY DRYING
Decaying but still afloat
Rusting but floating
She waits in the still water
For what? I know not
The feel of fur
To stroke a street cat
Gives enjoyment and gladness
To both man and beast
Just before a drama
The lighting dims
Auditorium darkens
The curtain is rising

The eyes are deceiv’d
Time’s passage
Hands move slowly
Time pass-es unceasingly
The clock remains unmoved
Rings of life
Rings of growth
Within a now dead tree trunk
Record a fine life long lost
