This photograph I took in Cornwall reminds me of lines from the first verse of a poem, “Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard”, written by Thomas Gray (1716–1771). The lines are:

“The curfew tolls the knell of parting day,

The lowing herd wind slowly o’er the lea …”
