JACK WHITE (born 1975) IS not only a noted American musician, but also an upholsterer and creator of sculptural artworks.
At an exhibition being held at the London’s Newport Street Gallery until 13 September 2026, one room is dedicated to freight loading pallets that have been repurposed as artworks,
Used pallets are frequently discarded and destroyed. What Jack White has done is to rescue discarded pallets and has used them as the basis for a set of imaginative artworks.
So, instead of consigning the pallets to the rubbish dump or bonfire, where they do nothing to improve the environment, White has transformed them with paint from a palette and found objects into creations of aesthetic interest that can brighten up or enhance the world around us.
