Today, I ate lunch at a Colombian café in south London. The desserts included “chocolate with cheese”, which, out of curiosity, I ordered.
What arrived was a mug of hot chocolate accompanied by three generous slices of a soft, white, tasteless cheese.
The waiter seemed to suggest that dipping the cheese into the chocolate was not necessary, but I might have misunderstood him.
I have heard of chalk and cheese, as in the saying: ‘chalk and cheese’, which refers to two items or people that have nothing in common. But, chocolate with cheese was new to me.
Is there a ‘correct’ way of enjoying chocolate with cheese in Colombia?
